Dealing with unfair and unjust treatment at work can be harrowing in any situation. Individuals in Michigan who are subjected to discrimination may not only face high levels of stress at work, but such behavior could also affect their career opportunities. Activision Blizzard has reportedly agreed to pay $54 million in a settlement agreement after several female employees filed lawsuits accusing the company of gender discrimination.

Gender discrimination

According to reports, numerous female employees have accused Activision Blizzard of gender discrimination. The company was accused of exhibiting unjust behaviors such as denying opportunities for career advancement and providing female employees with lesser pay than male employees. Many female employees say they were also constantly subjected to sexual misconduct and harassment while working for the company.

An investigation into the matter indicates that these employees were subjected to discrimination for five years, dating back to 2015. A lawsuit was filed against Activision Blizzard in 2021 and the company has agreed to pay $54 million to settle the claims. The company has also agreed to take steps to provide all employees with fair and equal treatment moving forward.

Facing discrimination at work

While no one should have to endure unjust treatment at work, incidents of discrimination continue to affect the lives of many. Individuals who face such challenges and are uncertain of the best course of action to take to protect their rights and interests might choose to retain the services of an attorney for assistance in navigating this process. An attorney can assist a client in preparing to take the appropriate steps to protect against such behavior and to pursue any compensation to which he or she may be entitled to receive.
